Among those who stepped out in style were notable VIPS and celebrities including Rock of Ages star Diego Garcia, supermodel and one of People magazine’s most beautiful people Omyra Mota, legendary singer John Secada, actor Alejandro Chaban, NFL greats such as Chip Vaughn of the Indiana Colts and Ahmed Bradshaw from the New York Giants and fashion moguls including Lisa Pliner, Inca Swimwear founder Stacy Josloff, Nani and Kaki Lopez of N&K Designs, noted Miami Beach fashion photographer Don Pedro, Maya Swimwear designer Carolina Dinardi. Also in the packed-house show was socialite Fabian Basabe and new Miami hotspot Haven owner Michael Bowles.

Presenting sponsors included CoverGirl and Pantene whose Head Stylist Carlos Vera completed each look with heat and humidity-friendly make-up and hair, respectively.

Guests celebrated the kick-off of Miami Swim Week with a two-hour opening cocktail reception with drinks provided by Alizé followed by a Summer 2012 fashion show hosted by Cosmopolitan en español’ emceed by Jackie Guerrido, showcasing the season’s must-have apparel and accessories with head-to-toe looks from K-Mart and nationally known designers including, Elie Tahari, Inca Collection Swimwear, Maya Swimwear, Nic Del Mar, N&K Designs, Samsara Imports and Sergio Rossi Bal Harbour and up tempo beats by DJ Jessica Who? as well as a performance by Veronica Vergara, sister of Sophia Vergara. ~TARA, Ink., Miami Today
